Here's a little background on Terri before we begin the interview:
At
an early age Terri Reed discovered the
wonderful world of fiction and declared she would one day write a book. Now she is fulfilling that dream and enjoys
writing for Harlequin’s Love Inspired lines. She is an active member of both
Romance Writers of America and American Christian Fiction Writers. She resides
in the Pacific Northwest with her college-sweetheart husband, two wonderful
children, and an array of critters. When not writing, she enjoys
spending time with her family and friends, gardening and playing with her dogs. You can write to Terri at P.O. Box 19555 Portland, OR
97280 or visit her online at www.loveinspiredauthors.com
or email her atterrireed@sterling.net
or leave comments http://craftieladiesofromance.blogspot.com/ .
I love that Terri has a snail mail address. I miss the old days of actually putting pen to paper and writing our favorite authors!
Now, settle down with your favorite fall beverage (mine is a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks), as I interview Terri...
LG: What made you
choose to write inspy suspense?
TR: I write suspense
because it is what I gravitate to when I read for pleasure. I started writing
for the inspirational market because my worldview is Bible based and my
characters were a reflection of my beliefs so it seemed a natural fit.
LG: How do you get in
the mood to write?
TR: A cup of coffee or
tea at hand, music from my iTunes and I read the last few paragraphs of what
I’d finished with the previous session to get back to where I am in the story
and then I write.
LG: Have you
considered writing in another genre?
TR:Yes
and I intend to one day. I have story
ideas for more mainstream thrillers and women’s fiction stories as well as some
contemporary romance ideas. I’ve also
started a historical that one day I’ll go back to.
LG: Name one historical
figure who inspires you.
TR: Eleanor
Roosevelt.
LG: Finish this
sentence: "If I couldn't write, I would..."
TR: "...be an FBI agent."
LG: Lightning round!
Choose 1:
Chocolate or
vanilla? Both in a swirl
Diamonds or
pearls? Pearls
Dogs or cats?
Dogs-I’m allergic to cats.
Brad Pitt or
George Clooney? Hmmm, I’m more a Gerard Butler fan.
LG: Tell us about your next project.
TR: Upcoming in March
2013 The Cowboy Target, the fourth book in the Protection Specialists
series.
When someone targets
widower Wyatt Monroe, framing him for murder and endangering his precious
daughter, he has no choice, but to accept the protection of the pretty, petite
blonde who looks more like a kindergarten teacher than a bodyguard. Ex-deputy sheriff turned bodyguard, Jackie
Blain arrived at the Wyoming ranch at the request of her uncle, but soon finds
herself determined to not only keep her uncle’s employer, Wyatt and his
daughter safe, but to prove the handsome cowboy’s innocence. Amid hidden agendas, flying bullets and
strained family relations, Wyatt and Jackie forge a deep bond that proves
stronger than the evil trying to take their lives.
That sounds fantastic, Terri! Now, let's give our readers a little taste of The Doctor's Defender. Terri is very generously giving away one copy of this book to a Lady Scribes guest this morning, so please be sure to leave a comment with your email address to be considered for the drawing!

Do No Harm
As a trauma surgeon, Dr. Brenda Storm saves lives every day.
But someone wants her dead. It starts
with the anonymous delivery of poisoned cupcakes. Now the hospital has hired a bodyguard to
protect her 24/7. At first, Brenda
doesn’t think too-handsome Kyle Martin is the right for the job. Then she discovers his harrowing
background—and that Kyle will do anything to keep her safe. With every attempt on her life, she’s more drawn
to the strong and silent man who risks his life for hers. But their growing feelings could put them
both in harm’s way.
Thanks for stopping by Lady Scribes, Terri! I have my October reading list decided thanks to you. ;)

Terri,
ReplyDeleteIt's great to have you at Lady Scribes today. Thanks for being here and offering a copy of your book. Congratulations on your newest release. I love suspense! :)
Thanks for joining us today, Terri! I'm always intrigued by writers who have music playing while they work, since I far prefer silence. If I ever do write with music playing, it's got to be classical. Lyrics throw me off my game. What sort of music do you listen to while you write? Congratulations on your new release!
ReplyDeleteHi Terri!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Ladyscribes!! It's great to see you here!! Terri and I have been buddies since way back when and I never would have guessed The FBI! That tickles me to know end because that is the exact answer I would give. I remember touring the FBI a few (or maybe more) years ago and they said they wouldn't accept anyone over the age of 35. I remember feeling devastated! How could they do that to me?! So now I have to live vicariously by writing about them. :) Your book sounds great, Terri! May it fly off the shelves!!
Thank you ladies for the warm welcome. Catherine, I listen to pop, rock, show tunes and contemporary Christian music. I used to have classical playing but it made me sleepy. I need upbeat and for whatever reason I like having lyrics playing. I tune them out but I can't have silence.
ReplyDeleteHey Cynthia, how are you? Good to see you. I'm currently serve jury duty. It's fascinating.
Welcome to Lady Scribes, Terri! Many congrats on having found just the right sort of book that suits you!
ReplyDeleteTerri, it is so lovely to have you here with us today! Inspy suspense is a subgenre that I didn't even know what around! Also, I know what you mean about having all those other genres in your head that you would someday like to try. Congrats on your new release, and best of luck to you!
ReplyDeleteJury duty! I've never been picked - can you imagine that? LOL!! We are all happy, healthy and busy. Counting my blessings every day. :D
