VOTE! For your favorite Presidential Movie, that is.

by Marquita Valentine

My fellow Americans, er, Lady Scribe Blog Readers, I ask you to vote this, November the 6th for your all-time favorite Presidential Movie.

The contenders are funny, dramatic, goofy, kick-butt and have friends with mad math skillz that can balance a federal budget after pulling an all-nighter or two.

So please, do your civic duty and vote for your favorite movie!

Which one is your favorite? Or do you have a write-in candidate you'd like to share?

    1. Katie,

Two great writ-in candidates! Primary Colors was certainly something that had people talking for a long time.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Samantha,

I think my favorite scene was in the car-factory where Dave was messing around with the robotic arms and got everyone singing "Louie, Louie".

  3. Air Force One (how can I not vote for Harrison Ford?) But I want Dave's friend (or was he a relative) to balance the budget. Good thing you didn't include TV shows because if you would have put West Wing into the mix, I would have been really torn.

    1. Jane,

Who wouldn't want a President that can kick some terrorist butt on a plane? Harrison Ford is perfect for that. And I'm glad I didn't pull you in two different directions too much. ;)

  4. I guess I would pick Dave, since its the only one I have seen out of all the selection.

    1. Melody,

You have to watch My Fellow Americans. A democrat and a republican have to traverse across the country together, without food and money. It's hilarious!

    2. I loved that one too, Marquita. It was like Grumpy Old Men with suits, lol

    1. Deb,

I really enjoyed the polar political opposites falling in love. It made for great tension. :)

  6. The one I've seen more times than I can count is Air Force One...so I suppose that would have to get my vote. Plus, you know, the bad guy in it was perfection. :)

    1. Catherine,

I could watch AFO all day long and not get tired of seeing Harrison Ford kick butt. ;)

  7. How could you leave out Michael Douglas in The American President?

I don't really count Guarding Tess because we never see the President except in a movie clip. Although Shirley MacLaine makes a great former first lady and I love all the stuff she puts the Secret Service through.

Dave is great for a laugh and Harrison Ford is great although I can't really see that happening in RL that the President would fight. Hmm, Dave, Air Force One and The American President are all favorite movies. But I have to go with The American President for best President. I love, love, love Andrew Shepard's speech at the end.

    1. Beth,

I like the premise and though they were great actors. But MD kinda creeps me out a little. There are just some actors I can't stand to watch. SHHH, don't tell. ;)

I'm counting Guarding Tess b/c I loved it. I though she was very Presidential. hee!

  8. I'm going to have to go for Jack Lemmon and James Garner--I ADORE them both. I love Harrison too, but he's not gonna beat the good ol' boys. ;}

It looks like Harrison Ford is winning. But what is his stance on Man Candy? *snort*

  10. LOVED My Fellow Americans! So funny!

I'd also like to write in my own: Swing Vote. Totally thought it would be a piece of crap, but ended up being a really good movie!

    1. Jerrica,

I'd totally forgotten about that movie. The most highly improbably scenario ever, but I was enthralled and surprised, like you, that I enjoyed it so much!

  11. Air Force One. I loved Guarding Tess, but AF1 without a doubt. I'd love us to have a president with that sort of gumption.
