Battle of the Beards~ Results Post

Last month I wrote about Hot Builder's contest with his brothers and some friends. Dude with the best beard wins beer...and beard R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
Heh.

To remind everyone where our journey started, let's take a look at Hot Builder pre-beard:

He's the only person I know that can photobomb their own pic.

And his end result:

The contest was a draw, with Hot Builder and his middle brother tying for 1st place or so I've been told. Honestly, all I have to go by is a bunch of Facebook updates about their awesome beards (their words, not mine) with pics like this:

So...

Now it's been twelve days post Beard Contest and Hot Builder still has his. He says he's not planning to shave it off until it gets hot. Mostly because he went camping in the mountains with Bromance this weekend and said his beard kept his face nice and warm.

My very own Sleeping Beardly
So what do you think...Did Hot Builder do his fellow Beard Dudes proud with his contribution?

  2. Looking very manly, Hot Builder!

So, how do you like it, Marquita?

My brother-in-law, avid hunter, grows his every winter and shaves in spring. I don't think my sister-in-law loves it. But he looks nice in it!

    1. Deb, I thought I'd hate it, as I'm not a fan of a beard on Hot Builder...or at least I wasn't an fan in college. He kinda grew one then or was it a goattee? But I love it!

    1. Tes,

That's what he said! 27 degrees at night and his face was toasty. The rest of him, however... ;)

  4. He looks all set for the NHL playoffs! He should keep it. By the time the playoffs are over, he'll surely have the best playoff beard. LOL.

  5. His beard has surpassed mine. Officially, he wins but I'm still the better looking brother (so I win). We're awesome, brain trust.

    1. LOLOL!!! Wow, modesty really runs in the family, Leigh. ;) And why are you clean shaven in your avi?????

  6. I must that his beard is very nice. However, the beard thing must be a trend, because I have been noticing more beards popping up on shows I watch. Which isn't a lot. Anyways, I'm all for him keeping the beard and you know my reasoning.

    1. It's Duck Dynasty!!!! And the whole hipster thing. Though Hot Builder identifies more with DD than the hipster thing, since he's a country boy. ;)

LOl! He's ready to shave, Melody, so watch out!

  7. I'm not a huge fan of a guy with facial hair...BUT I'm impressed with Hot Builder's beard....and I agree with Melody, the beard is making a surge in tv shows. Some guys (Aragon in Lord of the Rings AKA Viggo-I-only-look-hot-with-facial-hair-Mortinsen) must sport the beard!

    1. LOL! Yeah, me neither, Christi! BUT he changed my mind. ;) That's so true. I've seen guys that sport beards in a movie, then see them w/o and think you might want to go back to the beard, buddy. ;)

  8. I would love for Big Daddy Bear to grow a beard, but his job won't go for that. Ack! Ah well. Hot Builder looks good in a beard!

    1. Yeah, that's why the youngest of Hot Builder's brothers really couldn't compete. The military doesn't allow beards. :\

      And thank you!

  9. Hm. I'll take a beard over a weenie little mustache (HATE this trend!), but my true preference is clean shaven or goatee :-)
