It's So Hard to Say . . .

Do I know goofy videos, or what?!
It all started with a perfectly innocent post about how to effectively pack for a trip to nationals. It was shortly before the RWA national convention in 2011, and I had been invited by the lovely Lady Scribes to do my first guest post. It was actually surprisingly popular (who knew?), and I was delighted when I was asked to join as a fulltime member.
I quickly discovered what a wonderful community it was to be a part of. Over the years, you’ve shared my excitement when I sold my first three book deal, when my first book hit the shelves (including the ensuing music video of some awkward dancing through the,  aisles of Barnes & Noble), and when my second book released and I made my goofy cooking video .
You’ve been there as I reminisced about my childhood trips to my grandparents’, about the books that sparked a lifetime love affair with reading, and about that time  I met Colin Firth ;)
You’ve laughed with me as I’ve confessed to the truth behind the smiling vacation pictures, as well as when I revealed why I hate the beach so much. You may have even cried with me when I shared the story behind why I will always love snoopy.
Thanks so much for sharing the fun, laughter, tears, and triumphs. It’s been such a great two years being part of the Lady Scribes, and I am so grateful to have been a part of such an awesome community of readers and writers. I’ll be bidding adieu after this, my final blog, but I do hope to drop by and say hello to you all in the comments of future blogs. Though I’ve decided to step back from the time commitment of blogging, I do hope that you’ll still join me either on Twitter, Facebook, or even my website. I always love hearing from and chatting with friends and soon-to-be-friends alike, so please be sure to say hello! Also, feel free to sign up for my newsletter to keep up with the latest :)
As a thank you for sharing these past few years with me, one lucky commenter will win all three books in my SEALED WITH A KISS  series – signed!!!
FLIRTING WITH FORTURE doesn’t hit the shelves until September 3rd, but I’ll be sending the prize package to the lucky winner the very moment I receive my author copies (usually a week or two ahead of release).
To be eligible, leave a comment with you email address, or if you don’t wish to publicize your address, leave a comment, then email me your address privately to erin@erinknightley.com. Open to US/Canada/Mexico. Winner will be drawn Wednesday Aug 7 at 9pm CT.  GOOD LUCK!

Ah, dear reader. What can I say? It's so hard to say goodbye...  (seriously, my last chance to get a 90's reference in on this blog - what did you expect??)  LOL - Love you all!

  1. Oh geez Erin, you'll be missed. It's always hard to say goodbye. Now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head. Of course I'll see ya around twitter.

After a couple of moves it still is hard to say goodbye. You end up developing great friendship and that's what makes it hard to say goodbye.

    1. I'll definitely still be seeing you, Melody! That's the beauty of on-line friendships - though I won't be a regular blogger on Lady Scribes anymore, I'll still be in and out of the comments section, as well as posting occasion blogs on my own site (http://haveyourcakeandreadittoo.blogspot.com/), and of course on Twitter and Facebook.

Sorry about the song - it made me laugh, so I had to post it!

  10. It will be sad that you are not here, Erin. However, it has been wonderful watching you and your writing successes grow. I certainly understand that you need to dedicate your time to writing. You have shared yourself generously with readers and followers here and we will always be with you. You are now a friend and a favorite author. I cannot wait to see the next novels you produce and will be there in line to buy them. Thank you for the entertainment you provide me. All the best!!

  32. Erin, I know how hard it is to say goodbye and move on to another phase of your life. I retired 12-31-09 from a very busy legal secretarial career after many years with the same law firm. I found myself at odds at first, but have hit my stride and now I don't know how I do all that I do in the hours that I am granted each day. But change is good! Freeing up some time to be with your family or doing something new is good! And I think it's great you got Colin Firth to stand beside you for a photo! Whee! jdh2690@gmail.com
