I've been a little distra--squirrel!

Holy tic tacs, I have been so distracted lately. I don't know what it is--I want to finish this book, I do. I love the characters and cannot wait to share their story.

Only, apparently, I don't want to write it. *gasp!*

I don't want to read. I don't want to cook. I don't want to clean. And sure as all hotness in Hades do NOT want to referee anymore fights between my beasts!

All I want to do is snuggle in my massive bed and watch my magic box.

No, not the TV.

My Roku box.

It's magic at my fingertips!

I blame the writers. Yep. I do. If they didn't write episodes they way they do, I wouldn't be so drawn to the boob tube. See? It's totally legit.

For example, I don't care if some fans think it's jumped the shark, I will watch Supernatural until it is no more. And thanks to Netflix, I can watch Dean, er, Supernatural, over and over. And over.

Yep, it's totally the storyline that holds my attention.

And have you seen American Horror Story?!

It's dark and violent and spooky--that's almost a love story for me! Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, and Angela Bassett are amazing in their roles and I simply cannot stop watching.

Another show driving me to distraction?

Sleepy Hollow. Is it just me, or is Icabod kinda smokin' in all that wit and sarcasm?

I'd totally play the part of that skull.

Last but not least is my boy, Grimm.
For a while there, I wanted someone to slap the taste out of Juliette's mouth. Now I'm intrigued by the developing relationship between the Grimm and the Royal (his boss!).

He's a little intense.

See why I'm so distracted?!And don't even get me started on Game of Thrones and True Blood!

Clearly, the darker and grittier, the better for me. What shows do you find draw you in, pulling you away from the things you should be doing?

  1. Oh my gosh. Youngest was down with strep last week. This week he had surgery on his toe. Do you know how he's passing his down time? 2 ways--re-reading the Percy Jackson series and watching endless episodes of Supernatural on Netflix.

Yep, I'm with you, Dean is a hottie. But I can't go to my office--and it's danged hard to write with all the screaming going on in the TV room. Just once, can't Dean and Sam fight a *quiet* demon?

    :-)

    1. LOL. Those blasted demons have no respect for people trying to work. ;)

    2. Yikes! No wonder you can't get anything done! Admit it, Deb, it's not the demons distracting you but the all the pretty boys on the show! ;) I adore Jensen Ackles as Dean. I love him anyway, but his Dean is just my big cup o' delicious. I also love the guy that plays Crowley. He's just so acerbic. Teehee!

  2. Oh! Did I get you hooked on American Horror Story? (I am wickedly and gleefully laughing - because I don't know anyone else watching it AND I love, love - did I mention that I love it?)

The Scientist and home repairs have kept me distracted. I am soooo over home repairs. Like so over it. :)

    1. Lol. Actually, no, my friend visited from Arizona last May and me the ol', "Watch one episode. If you aren't hooked, then I will never bring it up again." Of course I was hooked! You know how I love dark, sinister stuff!
I can see why home repairs would distract you--all the banging, sawing, cursing. And then they ask for your help! Ack! No thank you. ;)

  3. I'm not obsessed with any shows at the moment, which I'm not sure I like. I've tried to find something to suck me in lately, but I haven't. I kind of like that feeling every once in a while. BUT I haven't watched any of the shows you mentioned, so maybe there is hope... I do have one show I love: The Walking Dead. But I can only watch it on Sunday nights, so it's not really keeping me glued to the TV.

My latest obsession is redecorating our living room. We bought a new area rug we picked up last night, so I've been rearranging furniture. I've also been cleaning the basement because we are going to have it remodeled this winter. I love home improvement projects. :)

  4. OMGorgonzola, I forgot to mention The Walking Dead! I've been recording it this season instead of watching because Sundays are busy family days for us. By the time the kids go to bed, I don't have the energy to even watch TV! I can't wait until the season is over and I can have a marathon!
I would LOVE to redo our living room--between the kids and the dog, the carpet and furniture are in desperate need of replacing. Unfortunately, I don't have the budget for that. :( Have fun redecorating!!!

  5. Love Supernatural. First few seasons I loved Sam but by Season 4 it's totally been all about Dean and maybe occasionally I want a little Castiel thrown in. And the guy playing Crawley is totally awesome. (He played on Leverage as well and I loved those episodes with him.)

Did you watch Almost Human? Karl Urban is totally yummy as a jaded cop. And I'm afraid to admit that Arrow has totally become about the bare chested workout scenes with Stephen Amell. He is so totally hot as the suited billionaire and the hooded crime fighter. Move over Bruce Wayne because Oliver Queen is hot stuff.

    1. Supernatural has been about Dean for me--those lips, those freckles, those eyes...*dreamy sigh* I love Castiel too.
I want to see Almost Human but haven't yet. I likes me some Karl Urban. Have you seen the movie Red? He was smokin' in that against Bruce Willis. *fans self*
Haven't been pulled into Arrow but I've not really given it a shot either. Bare chested workout scenes, you say? Perhaps it deserves my attention... :D

    2. I love Red. I was kinda disappointed he wasn't in Red2.

If you need some encouragement for watching Arrow, someone put a video together of the workout scenes from Season 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43FMVVTx8-I

  6. I love Supernatural! I love The Walking Dead as well. And I have a feeling if I would sit down to watch American Horror Story I would love that as well. But two shows is quite enough, thank you very much. I already procrastinate too much as it is. You are a very dangerous woman, Andris, tempting me with more TV shows that I do not have time for!!!

I love Dean! Love him, love him, love him! Almost as much as I love Rick from TWD! Almost. But no, I am not getting into any more shows...not at all. No way. Uh uh! =P

  7. Suzie, You would LOVE American Horror Story. It's so dark and gritty that I need a soul bath after watching it. I love it! ;)
No one tops Dean. I like Rick he's no Dean. All that angst wrapped up in sarcasm and tight jeans. Ahem. Yeah. I like Dean. ;)

  8. Oh my gosh! Great question!!! I've been on the couch on bedrest for seven weeks now and I should be totally productive, in terms of writing. I mean man...I should have finished about four books by now! I digress...I get side-tracked by several television shows. Homeland...that show blows my mind...every. single. week. Okay, and are you ready for this? I can't get enough of Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta and New York versions. Project Runway and America's Next Top Model. Those shows suck out my creative powers! Glad I'm not the only one!

  9. Ha! You're a captive audience, Christi! And you have the perfect excuse to relax and enjoy a little (or a lot) of tele. I could get into Homeland, but Say Yes to the Dress, Project Runway and America's Next Top Model are not violent enough for me! Well, on second thought, maybe they are...; )

  10. I don't want to watch any of those shows, but my boyfriend loves Sleepy Hollow. I do watch an Australian series though, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, and I absolutely loved it. Melbourne in the 1920's and Miss Fisher sure is naughty and sexy and smart.

  11. Hi Aurian! I love that you mentioned Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries! I put it on my Netflix queue a while back and can't wait to start it! Yay!
