A Sad Farewell + Christmas Quiz!

It's with a heavy heart that I write this blog today, because it is my last blog with Lady Scribes. Even having made the decision that I know is best for me, I'm still so sad.

You see, Lady Scribes is kind of like my grandchild. Years ago, I began a historical romance critique group with Jane Charles, where we were able to bring together some of the most wonderful, talented women you'll ever meet. And out of that critique group, Lady Scribes was born.

So while I know this is what I need to do, it feels a little like abandoning my family. And now I just want to cry and wail, "I looooooove you guuuuuuuuuuys!!!!" It feels like a break-up, but I promise, it's not you, it's me!

I'm leaving because I need to focus my attention elsewhere. I've gotten out of the habit of reading, both for pleasure and for colleagues (which is mostly pleasurable, too), and I haven't been writing nearly as much (or as quickly) as I'd like. There are lots of stories in me, and any distraction is...well, a distraction.

But enough with the sad talk. Just know I'll miss you all -- readers and Scribes alike -- and hopefully you'll let me come back and visit once in a while :)

NOW, onto the fun stuff! I've heard that the most popular posts on Facebook are the fill-in-the-blank kind. So I thought we'd have a little Christmas Fill-in-the-blank fun!

If you answer all the questions, you'll be entered in a drawing to win a free e-copy of my latest Christmas anthology, A Gentlemen's Pact (which also features stories from Julie Johnstone and Aileen Fish!)

Here we go...

My favorite Christmas movie is ____________.

My favorite Christmas song is _____________.

My favorite Christmas cookie is ____________.

The one food I MUST have at Christmas dinner is ____________.

When Santa visits, I leave out ___________ for him to snack on.

The best Christmas-themed book is ___________.

Christmas tree lights should be ___________.

For me, the true meaning of Christmas is __________.

Thank you, Lady Scribes, for so many amazing years! As Tigger would say, TTFN -- Ta-ta for now!
