What's Up, Wednesday?

This week's question posed to the ladies

What song do you have to blast any time you hear it?

If a Foo Fighter song comes on the radio I will blast it. They are my favorite band!
~Julie Johnstone, Dancing with a Devil

For a song: "save a horse, ride a cowboy." I was part of a fundraiser and did a hobby horse rodeo to that song. Makes me smile every time I hear it.
~Jennifer Lohmann, The First Move ***(Nominated for DABWAHA. See Monday's blog for details)

AC/DC Back in Black has one volume as far as I’m concerned: LOUD! Kashmir by Led Zeppelin is another and drums must be played on the steering wheel. That’s just the law.
~Samantha Grace, One Rogue Too Many

I blasted Eyes Open the Taylor Swift Hunger Games song!!
~Christi Caldwell, Forever the Betrothed, Never the Bride

And then we asked our friends

"Love Shack." B-52s. Maximum volume is always required.
~Gina Lamm, Geek Girls Don’t Date Dukes

"Sweating Bullets" by Megadeth, complete with headbanging and air guitar.
~Brooklyn Ann, Bite Me, Your Grace

Red Neck Woman by Gretchen Wilson gets turned up every time I hear it.
~Carolyn Brown, The Red-Hot Chili Cook-Off

Don't ask my why, but "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds.
~Victoria Roberts, To Wed a Wicked Highlander

Song: Counting Stars by One Republic
~Paige Tyler, Her Perfect Mate (X-OPS Book 1)

Kokomo by the Beach Boys. Love that song!
~Cheryl Brooks, The Cat Star Chronicles: Rebel

Crosby, Still & Nash "Southern Cross" -it swept the big boat circuit
that summer.
The fifty-foot boat I was refinishing that year (1983-gasp) is featured
in: "Where Dreams Are Born" -the 1st book of my "Angelo's Hearth"
contemporary romance series that will be completing with book 4&5
releasing on April 1.
~ML Buchanan

Maggie May by Rod Stewart.

~Jane Ashford,
 The Bride Insists

I do blast songs in the car. See, I love to sing but I'm pretty sure no one would want to listen to me sing...so I do it on the highway. My latest crazy has been 'Let it Go' from Frozen.
~Mary Wine, How to Handle a Highlander

Can’t Stop Loving You by Phil Collins
~Jade Lee, What the Groom Wants

Lil Red Riding Hood by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs
~Terry Spear, Silence of the Wolf

Shout by Tears for Fears
~Shona Husk, Temptation in a Bottle

I'm clearing out the bookshelf this week to make more room for all the new books I'll be getting at RT. If you would like to be entered into a drawing for 3 mystery books, tell me what song you have to listen to at top volume and include your email. (Email must be included to win. Otherwise it's too hard to track down the winner.)

Last week's winner of the print copy of The Heart of a Duke is: Monica! Congratulations! Please check your email for confirmation.

  1. The first one that comes to mind is YMCA! I certainly always have to jump up and dance to it when I hear it (assuming I'm not somewhere I can't stand up!).

  3. These days it's been Pharrell Happy song from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack. Slightly older tunes that hit would be just about anything from Garth Brooks.
